Bulmint has developed a system of compliance procedures and company policies regarding money laundering and terrorism funding, child labour prohibition, whistleblow policy, and modern slavery that will be carried out in the gold and silver supply chain.
Responsible gold and silver through strict supply chain management
Bulmint is specialized in precious metals refining, gold trading and manufacturing of precious metals semi-finished and finished goods. At Bulmint we are fully committed to ensuring that all our sources of the supply chain are ethical, legitimate, from conflict-free areas and respecting human rights. Bulmint complies with the high standards published by OECD, LBMA and RJC, and the Swiss laws of Anti-Money Laundering / Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/ CFT). These high standards are designed to fight against money laundering, terrorism financing and human rights abuses at any point along the precious metals supply chain. Our compliance with these standards is certified by recognized third-party audits.
Our ultimate goal is to supply our customers with responsible gold and silver, which is why compliance with the RJC standards for environmental protection and corporate social responsibility are particularly important. These are essential for local communities, and for that reason, we take care of the supplier’s process environmental impact, promoting responsible and sustainable practices. Responsible gold is, for us, synonymous with compliance with standards and involvement in local community development.
Group policy of Bulmint on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing
As a company specialized in precious metals refining, gold trading and manufacturing of precious metals semi-finished and finished goods, we are committed to the international fight against money laundering and terrorist financing. The Group Policy on the prevention and Combating of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing sets out guidelines and minimum standards, which are required to be followed at a group-wide level to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
The purpose of the Group Policy is to ensure the Bulmint group-wide compliance with:
- Directive (EU) 2015/849 of the European Parliament and the Council of 20 May 2015 on the prevention of the use of the financial system for money laundering or terrorist financing, amending Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 of the European Parliament and the Council and repealing Directive 2005/60/EC of the European
- Parliament and the Council and Commission Directive 2006/70/EC.
- Directive (EU) 2018/843 of the European Parliament and the Council of 30 May 2018 amending Directive (EU) 2015/849 on the prevention of the use of the financial system for money laundering or terrorist financing, commonly known as the 5th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (hereinafter: 5th AML Directive).
- The Bulgarian Measures Against Money Laundering Act promulgated, SG No. 27/27.03.2018.
Prevention of modern slavery
The purpose of this Policy is to specify details of Bumint's approach to fulfilling its commitment to support the elimination of Modern Slavery and fully meet the standards under the U.K.’s Modern Slavery Act 2015.
The Policy aims to ensure all Bulmint businesses take appropriate steps to confirm their and their suppliers’ commitment as we do to the requirements of the Act.
Risk assessment
The purpose of this risk assessment is to understand and assess the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing in the activities of Bumint, taking into account the relevant risk factors, including those relating to customers, countries or geographical areas, products offered and services, performed operations and transactions or delivery mechanisms.
Child labor prohibition policy
Respecting and protecting human rights is a top priority for Bulmint and is codified and enforced through Bulmint’s Code of Conduct. Bulmint is committed to respect and support children’s rights as articulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Children’s Rights and Business Principles by UNICEF, Save the Children and UN Global Compact, and the relevant conventions by the International Labor Organization (“ILO”).
In addition, Bulmint strives to comply with the Responsible Business Alliance Code of Conduct and its due diligence process. Bulmint endeavours to comply with all applicable local laws and regulations and respects the spirit and intention of the international norms and standards such as the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development’s guidelines for multinational enterprises, and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
Whistleblower policy
Bulmint is committed to the highest possible standards of ethical, moral and legal business conduct. In line with this commitment and the commitment to open communication, this policy aims to provide an avenue for employees to raise concerns along with the assurance that they will be protected from retaliation or victimization for whistleblowing in good faith.
This whistleblower policy is intended to provide a means for directors, officers and employees of the Company to report serious concerns that could have a negative impact on Bulmint or its stockholders.
